- How can we gain work experience as young students?
Possible Ideas
Career Day Career Chooser Work Experience
How can members of the community help teach us about careers?
Possible Idea: Career Day
Activities:
- Students find out about different jobs from members of the community.
- An infographic can be created for each person interviewed.
- Students invite interviewees to present their jobs to the wider community through a Career Day event.
- Presenters can present their jobs and answer questions from the public.

Possible Idea: Career Chooser
Activities:
- Students research the different jobs and what skills might be useful for that job.
- Students create a tool (app, quiz, etc.) that can be used to help kids identify a potential career.
- Students present their artifact to their peers to gain feedback and work on the prototype until it is ready to be used by others.
How can we gain work experience as young students?
Possible Idea: Work Experience
Activities:
- Students find workers or companies in the community that can host guests.
- Students work with these groups to create ways for students in their school or community to “work” with these groups for a short period of time (1-2 hours, for example).
- Student workers report on their experiences to the rest of the groups.
